How do I use the search function?

Search queries entered in Osiris for Supervisors use a generic method and work in the same manner as basic Osiris search queries in terms of default selections. However, in the Supervisor module, two default filters are used.

In addition, search queries in Osiris for Supervisors have a default ‘Starts with’ search setting for text fields.

For instance, if a user performs a search for a student surnamed ‘Jans’, the search will find all students whose surnames starts with ‘Jans’. The results will include ‘Jansen’ as well as ‘Jans’.

  1. Select a group of students (you can create groups yourself).
  2. This allows you to make a particular selection your default selection.
  3. Enter the data that should be included in the filter.
  4. Enter several student ID numbers that you wish to be included in the filter. You can save this selection by making it your ‘Default setting’.
  5. After entering all the data to be included in your search filter, press the ‘Search’ button.
  6. This is where you indicate which sorting method to use. The various screens present several options.
